The process of having a new home built can be daunting. At ASPECT Home Builders, we make it our mission to guide you transparently and professionally from day one. We truly believe that the lifelong memories you'll be creating in your beautiful home should start the minute you meet us for the first time. We encourage you to ask questions every step of the way. The more you understand about your new home, the easier our job will be and the more you will love the end result every time you walk through your new front door.

1. Find Land

Finding the right lot is a big first step towards your new home! We will design and build your dream home, taking into consideration your lot’s location, size, views, exposure/orientation, neighboring environment, your lifestyle, and of course your budget! Making sure that you’re looking for a lot that will actually suit your dream home can be tricky. Let us help you plan properly so that you are getting what you’ve always dreamed of, from day 1.

2. Preliminary Planning / Design

Once you have a lot, the next step is begin some more serious dreaming! We invite you to come and meet our team. Once you’re comfortable with us, we’ll go over your wish list, help you establish a budget and begin some preliminary designing of your home. A few shorts weeks after our preliminary planning meeting, it’s onto the next stage.

3. Quotations

Once we have a preliminary design and rendering completed for you we can prepare a detailed budget. We know that construction mumbo-jumbo can be overwhelming to say the least, so we will walk you through everything in your home that has been allowed for, in a simple, yet detailed way. We want you to know and understand exactly what your future home will be, which is why we will provide you with a virtual, 3D walkthrough of your home, to make sure it’s perfect for you.

4. Contract & Permitting

You’ve now been walked through your future home, you’re ready to move forward. We can sign a contract, and begin designing plans to go in for permit. In Saskatoon the permitting process can take anywhere from 4-10 weeks, depending on the time of year. During that time we can work on…

5. Selections & Design Details

There are many decisions to make when building a home, and at this point you’re on the right track. You’ve decided to build with Aspect and are ready to pick your dream countertop, hardwood and paint colours. Have no idea where to begin? That’s okay! Aspect has a team of in-house interior designers that can assist you with every selection, making the process as hands-on (or off) as you want it to be.

6. Construction

Upon receiving a building permit, it’s time to get started! We’ll let you take the first few scoops of earth and begin the construction process of your new home. Remember, safety first! You’ll receive custom hard hats to help keep you safe and sound whenever (hopefully often) you come and visit your new home along the way. You are always invited to stop by, check in on progress and let us know how things are looking.

7. Completion

Your new home is complete, clean, and ready for move-in. Once final inspections have been completed by the City and Progressive Home Warranty you will be ready to take the keys. Our staff will do a walkthrough of the home with you, making sure that you are comfortable with the way everything looks, operates and feels. The journey has now come to an end.
